Brendan Allen discusses his UFC Vegas 61 win over Krzysztof Jotko
Brendan Allen was extremely confident coming into his fight at UFC Vegas 61.
In the lead up to his matchup against Krzysztof Jotko, Allen spoke with MyMMANews in an interview and said he felt he was all around better that Jotko. He stated that he felt he was faster, a better grappler and that his training partner give him tougher looks than what Jotko would bring to the table.
When the fight was all said and done, Allen appeared to be spot on with his assessment before the fight.
Allen came right out of the gate and landed a big kick and he felt he was going to get a knockout after landing the shot.
However, moments later, Jotko would get a takedown, but he would be unable to do anything once he got Allen on his back. From there, Allen was able to lock Jotko’s leg in place and transitioned to get himself on top of Jotko.
Once he was on top, Allen felt that he was the stronger fighter and that showed as he was able to do some nice work from the position before making another high level transition to grab a hold of Jotko’s neck and roll him over to get a first round submission win by way of a rear naked choke.
The win was so impressive that the UFC gave him a performance of the night bonus to bring back home afterwards.
Following another great performance inside of the octagon, Allen got on the microphone and had a few call outs for his next fight. He asked for either Andre Muniz in Brazil at UFC 283 or for a rematch with Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez.
Aside from calling out fighters, he also had a call out for Monster Energy as he wants to sponsored by them.
Following the win at UFC Vegas 61, Allen once again joined MyMMANews to discuss his win, the performance bonus and his post fight call outs.
