British MMA Prospect Jahreau Shepherd Stabbed To Death At His 30th Birthday Party

At around 22:30 on Saturday, July 11, on the Black Prince Estate, Kennington, Jahreau Shepherd was stabbed to death while reportedly attending his 30th birthday party with family and friends. Police officers and paramedics attempted to stop the bleeding but were unable to save him and Shepherd was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. There is currently no physical description of the suspect available to the public.

The former UCMMA Welterweight champion and Bellator veteran looked to have a bright future ahead of him, with a strong opening record of 6-2. Shepherd was described by his most recent employers, Contenders MMA, as “hugely talented and great fun to be around, a big personality with a huge smile and infectious laugh.”

Inside the cage, Jahreau possessed excellent ability. A well-rounded fighter with immense power and a great understanding of shot selection. His most recent victory came against surging Norwegian talent Quinten DeVreught, where Shepherd captured the Contenders MMA Welterweight title. During this fight, Shepherd had shown massive improvements to his game, particularly in his clinch work and takedown defence.

In the wake of this tragic murder, the MMA community has come together as one. Shepherd’s management, Alpha Talent Management have set up a GoFundMe to pay for his funeral. At the time of writing, the goal of £15,000 has been surpassed in just one day; a truly incredible testimony for a young man taken far too soon.

MyMMANews sends its condolences and best wishes to the friends and family of the fallen. Rest in peace Jahreau Shepherd.
