Cage Warriors 116 Adds Morgan Charriere vs. Max Coga
Morgan Charriere and Max Coga are set to fight for the vacant Cage Warriors Featherweight title on September 26th at Cage Warriors 116. The fight will take place on the final night of three cards in three nights for Cage Warriors from September 24 to September 26th in Manchester. The two are fighting for the vacant belt left by Mads Burnell after his signing to Bellator.
Both Charriere and Coga are some of the best prospects Europe has to offer at 145. Charrier comes into Cage Warriors 116 at 15-7. His last win came over former champion, Dean Trueman at Cage Warriors 109. His knockout was a huge statement and won the Cage Warriors 2019 Knockout of the Year award by the widest margin to date.
Charriere says he’s ready to become champ and fall in line with the names of previous Cage Warriors featherweight champions Conor McGregor, Mads Burnell and Nad Narimani. “I’ve worked so much to get this title shot and the opportunity to become Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion. You guys are in for a hell of a fight.”
Coga comes into CW116 with a seasoned 22-6 record. He says he’s ready to get another piece of hardware for his mantle and ready to show his skills off. “I can’t wait to win another prestigious belt while entertaining an international crowd.” He continues, “This fight has chaos and violence written all over it.”
Building Cage Warriors 116 and The Trilogy
As mentioned earlier, Cage Warriors is planning a trilogy of fights in three nights. Cage Warriors 114, 115 and 116 are set to take place at the BEC Arena in Manchester, England and will broadcast on UFC Fight Pass. The Charriere and Coga fight will be the fourth title fight across three nights of fighting in the epic event.
