Cage Warriors Unplugged 2 Fighters Selected
Cage Warriors has confirmed the four bantamweight fighters in the tournament for their Unplugged 2 event taking place on September 6th. The four fighters are: Marko Kovacevic, Josh Reed, Scott Malone and Jack Cartwright.
The four fighters will be taking part in a one night tournament to fight for the vacant bantamweight title. As previously written on My MMA News, the Unplugged 2 event will take place at London’s BT Studios and will be invite only.
Kovacevic is riding a two fight win streak. His last loss was back in 2017 against Nathaniel Wood, who is now in the UFC. His only other loss occurred in his second professional fight in 2013. Kovacevic went on an 8 fight tear before running into Wood.
Kovacevic’s opponent, Josh Reed, has fought nine times for Cage Warriors. He suffered a three fight skid, including a loss to Wood. Reed has won two straight going into the tournament and will look to ride momentum.
On the other side of the bracket, Scott Malone and Jack Cartwright will face off. Malone’s last fight was a loss to the now-UFC talent, Jack Shore. He looks for a shot to get redemption and will have his eyes on the belt.
Jack Cartwright is the sole undefeated fighter coming into Unplugged 2. He’s gone 5-0 in his short career but shows tons of talent ready. All five of his fights were finishes.
Unplugged 2 Backup Plan
In the event that one of the fighters are injured and can’t continue for whatever reason, Cage Warriors have set an alternate scrap to step in, just in case of this event. The first fight on the card between Ayton De Paepe and Tanio Pagliariccio will be the backup.
The fighters will fight in two rounds of five minutes. In the event of a draw, a third tiebreaker round will take place.
You can catch Cage Warriors: Unplugged 2 on BT Sports and UFC Fight Pass on September 7th!
