Destiny Quinones was victorious over Grace Nowak in the main event of Reality Fighting last night. The unanimous decision win solidified her place as the organization’s first ever women’s strawweight champion.
The event was held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, June 3. Quinones moves to 5-8 as an amateur.
“Being the main event at Reality Fighting’s Mohegan Sun event was amazing,” Quinones said.
“I was super nervous. My legs felt heavy, I wanted to throw up most of the day due to my nervousness. After I lost the first round I needed to dig deep recollect myself and most importantly listen to my corner. The secd round I relied on my striking for the 1st time and the third I knew I had the won.
“When they announced my name it was one of the best feelings in my life. I felt like was the last thing I needed to personal accomplish before going pro.
“I have fought over 14 MMA fight from Olympic boxers to BJJjj specialists and have rematched quite a few already. I don’t think there is anyone new for me to fight. And I’m fighting again in three weeks internationally in Canada for the 125 title.
“Win or lose this will be my last fight ammy and have already discussed my pro debut in January at Mohegan Sun . Personally I feel I don’t have any more left to accomplish at this level with WKA titles, 105, 110 and 115 striking and now the 115 titles, plus the Reality title, it’s time to play with the big girls now and finally say good bye.”Follow MyMMANews.com on Social Media
