Cameron Saaiman discusses his upcoming fight at UFC 285
Cameron Saaiman cannot wait for his second octagon appearance at UFC 285 this Saturday.
In December, the South African fighter made his debut at UFC 282, and he made the best of the opportunity.
In his debut against Steven Koslow, Saaiman was able to land several big knees and short punches in the final round to get a TKO win and start his UFC journey on the right foot.
Prior to that fight, just moments before he made his first walk to the octagon, Saaiman was standing waiting for his music to hit the speakers when he turned around to his coaches and said this was the coolest thing he’s ever done in his life.
Now plenty of more cool things will be on the horizon for Saaiman and that includes this Saturday when he fights on another big UFC event.
UFC 285 has fight fans buzzing as it features Jon Jones returning to fight fight for the heavyweight title, UFC flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko looking to make her eighth title defense and former wrestling standout Bo Nickal making his UFC debut.
Also apart of that big lineup is Saaiman’s teammate Dricus Du Plessis, who will headline the preliminary card in a huge middleweight matchup against Derek Brunson.
Saaiman admitted that his first UFC fight was a lot to take in with the travel, all the UFC fight week obligations and the usual jitters surrounding a fight, but now that he’s experienced it once already, he fills much more relaxed and is completely dialed in on getting another UFC victory.
Standing across the cage from Saaiman on fight night will be Mana Martinez and Saaiman thinks its a good matchup for himself and he is predicting not only a stoppage win, but that’ll he’ll be leaving Las Vegas with a performance bonus.
Prior to the fight, Saaiman spoke with MyMMANews about his matchup with Martinez, his teammates huge fight on the same card, his podcast and he also took a look back on his UFC debut.
