CFFC 67 Results – John Platano De Jesus vs. Patrick Sabatini

Cage Fury Fighting Championships will hold CFFC 67 from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sep. 16.  The Alliance MMA promotion features both amateur and professional mixed martial arts contests and is headlined by a featherweight title bout.

John Platano De Jesus met Patrick Sabatini for the 145-lb. strap.  Sabatini is the new CFFC featherweight champ, submitting his opponent in under a minute.

A pair of heavyweights will locked horns in the evening’s co-main event as Jason Heflin returned from an extended layoff to take on Jon Romero.  Unfortunately for the Marine Corps Veteran he did not get the win in his return as he was submitted by Romero in round one.

Timmy Tyler looked to gain his first pro MMA win as he was set to take on Patrick Rivera.  Unfortunately a medical issue caused Tyler to pull from the fight just hours before.

An incredible story emerged in the main amateur bout of the evening as John Mabrey kicked a losing battle with drugs and alcohol to find a new found love for MMA and will compete in his very first fight.  Mabrey took on Billy Conway, a man he once faced in a jiu-jitsu tournament.  While Mabrey was unable to secure the win tonight in Philadelphia, he walked away from the 2300 Arena a better man than he once was.
