Charles Jourdain taps Lando Vannata early at UFC Vegas 52

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back at it again to stage UFC Vegas 52 from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the top of the card will be a strawweight contest between Amanda Lemos and former Champion Jessica Andrade. Also, Clay Guida vs. Claudio Puelles will serve as the co main event for tonight.

In this highlighted play-by-play we will look at the intriguing matchup between two featherweights that are certain to produce a fantastic show, Lando Vannata vs. Charles Jourdain. Both fighters know how to put on a show, so make sure you tune in for this one.

Vannata (12-5-2), comes into this fight a slight underdog with 3 victories in his last 5 fights. Vannata’s UFC tenure has been a whirlwind thus far, but it seems the move to 145 was the correct decision, as he seeks to gain momentum.

Jourdain (12-4-1), enters this bout of the back of a dominant performance against veteran Andre Ewell. Jourdain is always in an entertaining fight and rightly respected as one of the most exciting fighters inside the UFC roster. Jourdain looks to make it back-to-back victories.

Here’s how the fight played out round by round:

ROUND 1:

Your referee in charge is Keith Peterson. Both men start out quick with the kicks, Vannata catches one and gets the takedown. Transitions on the ground from Vannata working well and on cue Jourdain makes his way up to his feet. Both men flowing on the striking exchanges, Jourdain lands a straight left down the pipe that drops Vannata. Jourdain jumps on a one armed guillotine and it looks TIGHT! Vannata looks in real trouble and is trying to worm his way out of it, but it does not prevail and Vannata is FORCED TO TAP. Charles “Air” Jourdain gets the submission in round one, what an incredible first round.
