Charles Wallace – Maverick MMA has my best interests in mind
Charles Wallace will return to the Maverick MMA cage when he meets James Lodge at Maverick MMA 6 on April 14. The fight takes place at the Econo Lodge in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Wallace (1-1) has fought both his amateur mixed martial arts bouts for Maverick MMA. He experienced a setback in his first fight in December 2017 when he submitted by Jesse Burke, but was able to bounce back with a win over Xavier Marrero at Maverick MMA 5 in February.
“I really like Maverick MMA,” Wallace said.
“When I was looking to get in MMA, there’s a lot of promotions out there obviously to fight for, and I was drawn to Maverick because the people who work for them, they seem to have a plan in mind. They want to further their fighters’ careers. They’re not just doing these promotions to make a quick profit off. They have a goal in mind for the end game of the promotion and the end game of the fighters. They want to get them to the next level. And that’s what I want to do so I like working for a promotion that has my best interests in mind and wants to help me get to the next level.”
Wallace talks about preparation for the fight with Lodge, overcoming first fight jitters, wrestling and weight cutting. Tune in below.
