CHRIS CAMOZZI JOINS GLORY 72 CHICAGO CARD

Chris Camozzi completes GLORY 72 CHICAGO card

Camozzi faces hometown light-heavyweight knockout artist Ryot Waller as part of ‘Weekend of GLORY’ double-header event in downtown Chicago

Chris Camozzi has been added to the upcoming GLORY 72 CHICAGO card taking place Saturday, November 23 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Camozzi, fighting out of Denver, Colorado, will face Chicago’s own Ryot ‘Rottweiler’ Waller in a light-heavyweight bout which opens the GLORY 72 ‘Superfight Series’ section of the card.

Camozzi had twenty fights in the UFC before joining the GLORY middleweight division in December 2017. In August last year he debuted at light-heavyweight with a stoppage win and is now 2-0 in his last two bouts, 3-1 in GLORY overall.

Waller, fighting out of Chicago Muay Thai on Chicago’s Northside, made an impact on his GLORY 56 debut by scoring a spectacular stoppage win, video of which went viral among online fight fans. He is now 1-1 in GLORY and looking to take a win over a big name in this home-soil fight.

“I was there that night when he scored the crazy knockout in Denver, I was on the same card,” says Camozzi. “He’s tough and he’s unorthodox but I’m looking forward to it. I think it will be a real brawl of a fight.”

GLORY 72 CHICAGO is the second part of a double-header ‘Weekend of GLORY’ event taking place in downtown Chicago across Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, with back-to-back stacked fight cards at the Wintrust Arena.

The Preliminary Cards for both events have now also been finalized. The all-American line-up hosts a mixture of GLORY veterans and newcomers. Prodigious 21-year-old Selina Flores, of San Diego, California, debuts in the women’s division on the Saturday night.

In the co-main, Romanian heavyweight Benjamin Adegbuyi (33-6, 19 KO’s) and his Curacao counterpart D’Angelo Marshall (20-4, 11 KO’s) revisit the host city of their first fight, which ended with a quick KO win for Adegbuyi. Marshall is looking to return the favor in similar fashion in this rematch.

On the Saturday night, GLORY 72 is headlined by world featherweight champion Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao 163-36-2 (27 KO) traveling from Bangkok, Thailand to defend his title against Aleksei Ulianov (29-6-1, 7 KO’s) of Siberia, Russia.

Undefeated Mexican featherweight Abraham Vidales (15-0, 12 KO’s) opens the main card against former featherweight champion Serhiy Adamchuk (38-11, 14 KO’s) of Ukraine in what will be the toughest test of his career to date.

Tickets for both events are on sale now.

GLORY has also created a special ‘Weekend of GLORY’ Pass for fans who wish to attend both fight cards. This can be accessed by selecting ‘Weekend of GLORY’ as the desired ticket option on Ticketmaster, whereupon a 25% discount will be applied to tickets purchased for both nights.
