Despite campaign, PFL’s Chris Curtis not confident Ray Cooper III will be next opponent
Chris Curtis checked in with MyMMANews.com to discuss his PFL debut last week — a third-round TKO win over Andre Fialho to kick off the regular season for the promotion’s sophomore campaign. The event took place at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. Curtis picked up his eighth consecutive victory, and 4 points towards his run at the playoffs.
“The Action Man” talked about the victory, the late opponent switch after middleweight champion Louis Taylor wasn’t cleared by the NYSAC, the struggles of moving his training camp to Las Vegas, how the trials and tribulations of the last year softened the blow a little bit, the reaction from fans and fellow fighters on his victory, the chip on his shoulder after being passed over by the UFC his call out of Ray Cooper III and why he went that route, why he still has his “fingers crossed” even though the matchup with Cooper III doesn’t seem likely to happen and more.
Curtis also breaks down some of the opening round performances from his welterweight counterparts and talks about what challenges may lie ahead as the season progresses.
