Chris Daukaus vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik booked for upcoming UFC Fight Night card
A heavyweight battle between knockout artists Chris Daukaus and Jairzinho Rozenstruik has been booked for an upcoming UFC Fight Night card.
Rozenstruik himself confirmed the fight via his social media. The Daukaus vs. Rozenstruik fight will take place at a UFC Fight Night card set to take place on October 1 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of this card is a five-round women’s strawweight bout between Mackenzie Dern and Yan Xiaonan.
Daukaus (12-6) is the No. 10 ranked UFC heavyweight fighter. The 32-year-old Philadelphia native is 4-2 overall in the UFC. After winning his first four UFC fights by knockout, Daukaus has run into problems in his last two fights as he’s been knocked out by Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. However, those are two of the best heavyweights in the world, so there’s no shame in that. If he’s able to get past Rozenstruik in this fight, it would help Daukaus maintain his top-10 ranking.
Rozenstruik (12-4) is the No. 9 ranked heavyweight in the UFC. The 34-year-old Surinam native is 6-4 overall in the UFC. He won the first four fights of his UFC career before struggling over his last stretch of fights as he’s lost four of his last six overall. Rozenstruik is still one of the top-rated heavyweights in the UFC but he definitely needs to get back into the win column if he wants to keep his spot in the rankings. Although he looked great at the beginning of his UFC career, it’s been a tough look seeing Rozenstruik suffer some lopsided losses in his last couple of fights.
The odds for this fight should be competitive owing to the fact this is a heavyweight bout between two knockout artists who have also shown they can be knocked out.
