Chris Harris: “It’s no secret, I’m going to walk forward and I’m going to punch you in the face”

Chris Harris is always looking to challenge himself. The next challenge comes against Daniel Madrid in the main event of LFA 72.

Harris has a combined 22 professional fights under his belt, between MMA and Boxing. With experience like that it should come as no surprise that Harris is comfortable being the away team.

“It doesn’t change much of how I perform at least. I’ve performed well every time I’ve been on the road. I went to plenty of people ‘s hometown in Oklahoma and fought em’. So, I don’t think it will play too much of a factor.”

“The actual fight doesn’t change. It’s still a fist fight doesn’t matter where it’s at.”

Madrid comes in with a BJJ Black Belt. Harris expects the defining factor to be, “the wrestling.”

“I feel like that’s what it’s going to come down to. Everybody that’s ever seen me fight knows my game plan. It’s no secret, I’m going to walk forward and I’m going to punch you in the face. That’s about it. If you want to stand there and trade with me we’re going to have fight of the night: or one of us is going to sleep. But with his background I feel like it’s inevitable he’s going to shoot”.

Harris is more than willing to play on the ground but wherever the fight takes place it needs to have action.

“I don’t like being controlled on the ground,” he said. “If you’re going to take me down on the ground and pound me; and you’re going to submit me and you’re gonna finish me, fine. As long as it’s exciting, but I hate when guys take me down and just lay on me and hold me down. If we’re going to be down here let’s work. That’s my mentality”.
