Cyborg Injured. Plans to move to 135-Pounds Halted
Cristiane Justino more popularly known as “Cyborg” was to make her debut at 135-pounds at the upcoming Invicta FC 10 with plans on winning and eventually being able to move to the UFC and challenge bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Unfortunately, those plans have been delayed as Invicta founder Shannon Knapp announced that Justino suffered a “full thickness rupture of the anterior talofibular ligament.”
The injury occurred three weeks ago, but the Knapp decided to wait before making the announcement, to determine if it would resolve. It is not know yet whether the ankle will require surgery, and how long Cyborg will be out for.
She will be replaced in the main event by Invicta FC atomweight champion Michelle “Karate Hottie” Waterson vs. Herica Tiburcio
Invicta FC 10 takes place on Dec. 5, at Arena Theatre, in Houston, Texas, live on UFC Fight Pass. The event will include Vanessa Porto vs. Roxanne Modafferi and Tonya Evinger vs. Cindy Dandois.
