Dakota Cochrane: Chris Leben’s head is hardest thing I’ve ever hit
Dakota Cochrane entered the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship squared circle on just 10 days notice, taking on an equally seasoned veteran of the sport in Chris “The Crippler” Leben.
Cochrane would outpoint Leben to win a decision in the BKFC 6 co-main event, but the victory did not come easy.
“It feels good. He’s a tough sum bitch. His head is the hardest thing I’ve ever hit,” Cochrane said of Leben.
“He’s a legend man, I’m a fan. I’ve watched him for a long time, so for me to be able to fight him, that was a dream come true, and no matter who is in there, I’m gonna try to win. I don’t care who you are, I’m gonna try to knock you out.”
Cochrane, who has more than 40 professional mixed martial arts fights, also competed for the now defunct World Bare Knuckle Fighting Federation last year, knocking out former UFC champion Johny Hendricks in their bare knuckle contest.
Now with two big wins over two notable names in the sport, Cochrane is looking to establish himself as a contender.
“Hopefully the bossman brings me back,” Cochrane said of Bare Knuckle FC promoter David Feldman. “I took a short notice fight for him so…. and went up a little bit in weight. I think there was a little bit more tying up (clinch) than I would have liked in the Leben fight, but I come to fight no matter who it is so I’m ready.”
