Dalton Rosta discusses his upcoming Bellator 289 fight against Anthony Adams
Dalton Rosta had to work to get one more fight in before the end of 2022.
Rosta is coming off a huge win over Romero Cotton at Bellator 283 in which he dominated the fight on way to a third round knockout win.
Following the win, Rosta moved up to No. 5 in Bellator’s middleweight division. He was hoping that he’d get a fight with another fighter ranked within the top five, but that would never end up happening.
Since a top five matchup couldn’t materialize, Rosta had asked for a fight with someone ranked below him. Bellator had no problem with doing that, but there was one issue with booking a fight like that.
Bellator wants Rosta to fight on main cards, but the promotion only had prelims spots available for the remainder of the year.
Rosta told Bellator that he didn’t mind fighting on the prelims and shortly after that, the promotion booked Rosta to fight Anthony Adams at Bellator 289 on Dec. 9.
Bellator told Rosta that they may move his fight to the main card, but he doesn’t care about the placement of the fight. Instead, all he’s focused on is getting another finish and another win on his record.
If Rosta is to get a win, it will put him in a prime position for a major fight in the division. In fact, he heard a rumor that he wouldn’t mind taking advantage of if its true.
Rosta heard that Yoel Romero is interested in moving down to middleweight and if that’s the case, he wants to main event a show against him in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa.
While that is ways away, Rosta is all dialed in to getting a win on Dec. 9.
Prior to Bellator 289, Rosta spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his matchup with Adams, the process of getting his fight booked and his goal of one day headlining a show in Pittsburgh.
