Dan Hooker tweets Dana White to come back to New Zealand

Dan Hooker vs. Jalin Turner the latest addition to UFC 285

A lightweight bout featuring Dan Hooker vs. Jalin Turner is the latest addition to UFC 285.

Hooker himself confirmed via The Mac Life that he is fighting Turner at UFC 285, which is set to take place on March 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of this card features former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones making his heavyweight debut when he takes on Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship. Hooker vs. Turner will open up the main card, as confirmed by UFC president Dana White, who officially announced the entire UFC 285 pay-per-view fight card during a conference call on Friday.

“I think I said he turned the fight down, and he was like, ‘Aye, man. I didn’t turn that fight down,’ then let’s fight then. And it worked. Fishing with dynamite, baby. He’s in the Top 10. We kind of just cracked the rankings or whatever. I think everyone knows me. I try to target the best guy. I try to target the highest person that you possibly can, and that’s Jalin Turner. It’s a good fight, No. 11 versus 10. Get myself back in the Top 10. It’s exciting,” Hooker said (via FightNewsAustralia).

Hooker (22-12) is coming off a TKO win over Claudio Puelles at UFC 281 last November. He had lost four of five fights prior to that, which dropped him in the lightweight rankings, but the win over Puelles helped him bounce back into the top 15.

Turner (13-5) is riding a five-fight win streak at the moment, with a submission win over Brad Riddell at UFC 279 last September being his last appearance. He has quickly moved up the UFC lightweight rankings, and a win over Hooker would help solidify him as one of the 155lbs division’s top young fighters.

Who do you think wins this lightweight bout at UFC 285 between Dan Hooker and Jalin Turner?
