Dana White ‘Lookin’ For a Fight’ returns to CFFC, Sean Santella prime target

When UFC President Dana White and crew head to a regional mixed martial arts card for purposes of filming their YouTube based creation, ‘Dana White: Lookin’ For a Fight,’ you never truly know which fighter is on his radar.

A fighter might be hot going into the card and then have a not so exciting fight that leaves a sour taste in the boss’s mouth.  Sometimes he signs a prospect, sometimes he doesn’t.

Cage Fury Fighting Championship recently announced that they are headed out west to San Diego for the very first time.  Following that, we now know that interim flyweight champion Sean ‘Shorty Rock’ Santella will be fighting on that CFFC 64 card and his opponent is undefeated Team Alpha Male prospect Joseph Morales.

Then came the news that White will be in attendance.  Are the lightbulbs going off in your head yet?

Here’s an instance where you do know who White will be looking at.  Santella was primed and ready to fill in last year on short notice against UFC flyweight Wilson Reis.  The UFC went as far as to mention it during a live broadcast.

Just days later Shorty Rock’s dreams were shattered when the fight was taken off the card due to a last minute medical hiccup.

Santella stood tall, went back to the drawing board and took on rising star Matt Lozano in the main event of CFFC 62 in December 2016.  The fight was for the organization’s interim flyweight title.  Lozano was submitted in the third round via rear-naked choke, and Santella would go on to call out current champion Louis Gaudinot.  The fight is yet to have been made, but Santella knows this opportunity in front of White is his second shot at getting the call.

This will be White’s second time shooting his YouTube series at a CFFC show.  He and former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra, and Din Thomas, were at the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey, just last month where they expressed intent to sign featherweight champion Jared Gordon.  We have since learned that Gordon did sign the contract earlier this week and will be making his UFC debut shortly.

So, who will get the call, if anyone, Morales or Santella?

CFFC 64 will be managed by San Diego-based, Alliance Training Center owner Eric Del Fierro.

The current CFFC 64 fight card is:

Flyweight – Sean Santela (16-5) vs. Joseph Morales (7-0)
Lightweight- Matt Sayles (4-2) vs. Christian Aguilera (7-2)
Middleweight- Charles Johnson (1-0) vs. Miles Hunsinger (5-0)
Bantamweight- Joe Barajas (12-2) vs. Alex Perez (16-4)
175lb Catchweight- Karl Santiago (1-2) vs. Emilio Williams (1-1)
175lb Catchweight- Casey Ryan (7-9) vs. Danny Davis Jr. (11-9-1)
Featherweight- Andrew Lagdaan (3-2) vs. Alex Trinidad (1-1)

CFFC 64 take place inside The Observatory North Park in San Diego, California, March 25.
