Dana White intertested in seeing Jordan Burroughs in UFC

It was just last night that wrestling phenom Jordan Burroughs destroyed UFC welterweight and undefeated mixed martial artist Ben Askren at Beat the Streets: Grapple at the Garden, but only a day later UFC President Dana White has expressed interest in signing the Olympian to a fight contract.

The UFC President didn’t see four-time World Champion and Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs dominate Askren on the mat, but he would be interested in Burroughs one day fighting in the octagon.

White appeared on the Jim Rome show earlier today where he

“Yeah, listen, I’m always interested in these guys that are considered the best athletes in whatever it is they do, wanting to come to the UFC.  Yeah, I’d be very interested,” White told Rome.

“Askren is with me.  How fast did he beat him?” White asked.

Burroughs beat Askren 11-0 yesterday in New York, almost making it look like Askren had little to no experience on the mat, but yet he does.  Askren himself is an extremely talented wrestler, Jordan Burroughs is just that much better.

Burroughs himself has not expressed an interest in signing with the UFC, and although he already has the wrestling base down, it would be quite a while before we would see him inside octagon even if he were signed today.  If last night’s demonstration of skill over Askren, one of the very best in the world at 170-pounds, are any indication as to how Burroughs would do inside the cage, everyone in his division should be put on notice.
