Dana White says Jon Jones is the best of all time
UFC President Dana White says Jon Jones is the best of all-time and he is ready to go, they are just waiting on an opponent.
The discussion came today on the Jim Rome show where White was asked about Jones’ status as fans eagerly wait for the former UFC light heavyweight champion to debut at heavyweight.
“It’s very interesting because I’m a huge believer in ring rust,” White said. “But for all the negative things you could say about Jon Jones and his personal life and things that have happened, he’s the best. He’s definitely the best of all time.”
‘Bones’ Jones gave up his light heavyweight title in pursuit of heavyweight gold, but it has been more than two years since we last saw him compete at any weight.
“Jon Jones is ready to go,” White said on the show. “We’re just waiting for an opponent. It’s either going to be Francis [Ngannou] depending on how long his knee is going to take to recover or Stipe Miocic.”
But when could Ngannou be ready?
Well, the UFC champ provided an update as to his status just this week.
“If everything goes well, I will be ready by the end of the year because it is going to be nine months,” Ngannou said. “(I want to be back in) late December or early next year.”
