Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 5, Week 6 Results
Dana White’s Contender Series is back for another night of exciting fights from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Tonight’s show will mark the sixth week of the fifth season.
In the fights featured bout, 21-year-old Israeli prospect Shimon Smotritsky takes on Canadian Mike Malott in a welterweight matchup.
One fighter missed weight at yesterday’s weigh ins prior to the fight. Josh Weems, who took the bantamweight fight on short notice, stepped on the scale at 139 pounds, which is three pounds over the limit. Weems was not allowed to cut any additional and forfeited 20 percent of his purse to his opponent Fernie Garcia.
Aside from those fights, three others will take place on tonight’s card with all the fighters looking to make an impression on the UFC president in order to earn a UFC contract.
On last week’s episode, White handed out only two contracts, which was a low for this season.
Tonight’s fights can be streamed on ESPN+ starting at 8 p.m. ET.
