Dana White’s Contender Series continues on tonight with the shows fourth episode of the sixth season.
So far 10 fighters have been given contracts this season, but last week it was a fighter who didn’t get a contract that has given the show world wide attention as UFC president Dana White decided not to give three-time NCAA national wrestling champion Bo Nickal a contract despite winning his fight in 62 seconds.
Nickal has been invited back to the show and he will compete again in late September.
Nonetheless, the show rolls on tonight from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with more fighters looking to secure their dreams of becoming a UFC fighter.
In tonight’s featured bout, Thomas Paull will take on Esteban Ribovics in a lightweight matchup.
Paull comes into the bout riding a three-fight winning streak to go along with a nice 11-3 record. Perhaps more intriguing then his record, is the fact that he is a deaf athlete.
Ribovics will come into the fight with an unbeaten 10-0 record and has yet to go the distance in his professional career.
The co-main event tonight will feature a middleweight fight against Mexico’s Ivan Valenzuela and Brazil’s Claudio Riberiro.
Valenzuela will enter the fight with a 9-1 record and recently captured the Lux Fight League middleweight championship. Meanwhile, Ribeiro also recently won a championship of his own as he recently won the Future MMA middleweight title.
Another fight to keep an eye on is Hailey Cowan and Claudia Leite.
Cowan has fought in two UFC feeder promotions as she turned pro in 2018 with the LFA promotion and most recently she fought in Invicta FC.
Leite has won four straight and seven of nine appearances overall. The 25-year-old has earned finishes in three of her last four and trains alongside UFC fighter Josiane Nunes.
