Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 7, Week 4 Results
Dana White’s Contender Series will roll on tonight with the fourth week of season seven.
The fourth week of the show has typically played out well for the winners as all year all every fighter that was victorious received a UFC contract and the fourth episode was the launch point for ascending talents like Brendan Allen and Michael Morales.
So far this season, UFC president Dana White has loved the talent has he’s given nearly every fighter who has won a contract.
The lone person to not get their name called after their win was Josefine Knutsson, whose unanimous decision win over Isis Verbeek last week was not enough to earn her a contract.
Now tonight, Dana White’s Contender Series will have five more fights from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas in what is expected to be a fun night of fights.
A notable bout on the card will be between the European lightweights who kick off Week 4 as France’s Dylan Salvador takes on Belgium’s Bolaji Oki.
Salvador has gone 5-1 since transitioning to MMA in early 2019 and most recently he picked up a third-round submission win by Von Flue choke under the UAE Warriors banner last October. He also has a victory over UFC featherweight standout Giga Chikadze.
Meanwhile, Oki is 7-1 as a professional fighter and hasn’t lost since his pro debut. Most recently, he earned a TKO win back in March to earn this opportunity.
Another fun fight comes between TUF alum Chandler Cole faces off with former LFA title contender Thomas Petersen in a heavyweight bout.
Cole was a member of Team Nunes on Season 30 of TUF and was marred by an elbow injury prior to his opening round bout with Jordan Heiderman. Since then, he’s bounced back with a pair of stoppage wins.
Peterson fought for the vacant LFA heavyweight title three fights ago but lost to DWCS grad Waldo Cortes Acosta. That loss is the only blemish on his record over the course of eight professional appearances.
Dana White’s Contender Series can be streamed on ESPN+ starting at 7 p.m. ET and the rebroadcast will also be available on ESPN+ following the conclusion of the show.
