Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 7, Week 3 Results
Dana White’s Contenders Series will have their third episode of season seven take place tonight from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nev.
So far throughout the course of the season, a win has resulted in a UFC contract as week one and week two saw every winner receive a UFC contract.
Now tonight, four more fights are scheduled to take place. Originally, there were five fights on the lineup, but a fight between Felipe Dos Santos and Luciano Pereira was scrapped from the card after Pereira was unable to weigh in for the fight due to a medical issue.
Tonight’s featured bout of the evening will take place in middleweight division with a battle of unbeaten fighters Eli Aronov and Zachary Reese.
Aronov comes into the fight with a 6-0 record and his most recent win came by way of a second-round submission over DWCS alum Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz under the Unified MMA banner.
Meanwhile, Reese is 5-0 and he is coming off three consecutive victories in under a minute. One of those wins came over TUF 30 contestant Aaron Phillips.
The co-main event will be between regional standouts Kaik Brito and Oban Elliott.
Briot will enter the octagon with a 16-4 record since moving up to welterweight, he’s posted a 3-1 record, with his one loss coming by way of a split decision. He’s earned finishes in each of his last two outings, both in the OKTAGON promotion, claiming the welterweight strap with a third-round finish of David Kozma back in December.
Elliott is a former Cage Warriors standout and the Welshman has won four straight fight on way to a 8-2 professional record.
Tonight’s fights can be streamed on ESPN+ starting at 7 p.m. ET and following the event, the rebroadcast from the show will also be available on ESPN+. The post-fight press conference can also be seen on the UFC’s YouTube channel.
