Daniel Cormier credits Luke Rockhold and Cain Velasquez for his successful MMA career

Daniel Cormier has one more fight left.

In the main event of UFC 252 on August 15, Cormier is looking to reclaim the heavyweight title when he battles Stipe Miocic. It is their trilogy fight where ‘DC’ won the first one by first-round KO. But, at UFC 241, it was Miocic reclaiming the belt as he TKO’d Cormier in the fourth-round.

Now, at UFC 252, it is a crucial fight where win or lose, Daniel Cormier said it will be his final fight. Ahead of the scrap, the former two-weight world champion took to Twitter to credit his teammates, Luke Rockhold and Cain Velasquez for helping him have a successful MMA career.

“We’ve always had each other’s back, I’m so lucky to have these guys in my career and in my life. I couldn’t have done this career without you two fellas. We’re the 3 kings of @AKA_HQ and we went to the moon! I’m so lucky to have my brothers @cainmma @LukeRockhold #andnewagain,” Cormier wrote on Twitter.

Daniel Cormier is coming off the loss to Miocic last time out. He was winning the fight using his wrestling before the champ made a major adjustment and started to attack the body of DC.

The 41-year-old, is currently 22-2 and one no-contest in his career. Before the Miocic loss, he defended the heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis. He is one of the greatest fighters of all-time. Many pundits believe whoever wins the UFC 252 main event goes down as the greatest heavyweight of all-time. In his career, he has notable wins over Alexander Gustafsson, Rumble Johnson, Anderson Silva, and Dan Henderson among others.

So, for Daniel Cormier, he says he couldn’t have had this successful of a career without his teammates in Luke Rockhold and Cain Velasquez. Both men are former UFC champions and like DC have been at AKA for a long period of time.
