Corier, who owns a 14-0 heavyweight record, meets Lewis whose 9-1 record in his last ten UFC bouts includes seven knockouts and victories over Francis Ngannou, Travis Browne, Shamil Abdurakhimov and Roy Nelson.
Cormier, a two-division champion, will defend his heavyweight belt for the first time since defeating former champion Stipe Miocic this past summer. Cormier also holds the UFC light heavyweight title.
Valentina Shevchenko vs Sijara Eubanks was announced as the event’s headliner just last week. Fans were not crazy about the fight which had replaced the originally scheduled December fight between Shevchenko and former strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk. UFC President Dana White states that the Valentina vs Joanna fight is now back on.
