Daniel da Silva and Victor Altamirano look to secure first UFC win at UFC 279
Daniel Da Silva and Victor Altamirano both made their way to the UFC recently, but thus far have failed to secure a win with the promotion.
At UFC 279, they will both have another shot to secure that win as they face off against each other at the event.
Da Silva (11-3-0) made his way to the promotion back in 2021 off of an outstanding 11-1-0 professional record that he collected through various South American promotions. In his 2021 UFC debut, he took on Jeff Molina but ultimately lost the bout via stoppage. Last April, he would lose his second UFC bout against Francisco Figueiredo via first-round submission.
As a professional, de Silva has never done to the judges’ score cards as all 11 of his victories have come by stoppage, as with his defeats. As UFC 279 approaches, he will look to keep it that way with a finish over Altamirano.
After a successful showing on Dana White Contender Series in 2021, Altamirano faced off with Carlos Hernandez at UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green, but lost the bout via split decision.
Prior to making his way to the UFC, Altamirano had a successful run in the LFA, going undefeated with the promotion and capturing the flyweight title against Nate Smith in early 2021. With a 10-2-0 professional record, he has collected five finishes and five decision victories.
UFC 279 takes place on September 10th, at a yet-to-be-determined location and venue. The pay-per-view event will be broadcasted via ESPN+.
