Darren Till arrested on DUI charges
Former UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till arrested in Stockholm, Sweden
Darren Till was reportedly arrested in Stockholm in July on drunk driving charges according to a report from Swedish major newspaper Expressen.
According to the report, Till was arrested on July 31 while driving at high speeds in central Stockholm near Vasagatan.
Till allegedly told police that he was not operating the vehicle, however a woman who was a passenger in the car, stated that the mixed marital artist was behind the wheel.
Police noted the fighter to be “noticeably intoxicated” and stated that Till tested three times above the legal limit after submitting to a breath test for alcohol.
Till, currently fighting at middleweight, was set to fight Jack Hermansson in July but pulled out of the contest due to injury. Till was then set to corner Chris Curtis who replaced him in the fight, but he also withdrew from those duties as well.
His pro MMA record stands at 18-4-1. The four losses have taken place within the last fight bouts that Till has competed in. The lone win, a split decision victory over Kelvin Gastelum, took place in November 2019.
