Fight Night 147 sees the return of ‘the Gorilla’ Darren Till. This will be the main event on the March 16th card at the 02 arena in the UK. This welterweight clash will be against the seasoned Jorge Masvidal in what is exected to be an exciting fight for spectators. The ufc betting makes Till the current 4/9 favourite as he looks to get his career back on track following his latest defeat. Darren Till
Till will be the home fighter so instantly has an advantage going in. He has a very impressive professional record of 17 wins and 1 loss from his 18 career starts. This includes impressive victories over the likes of Stephen Thompson and Donald Cerrone. However his recent humbling defeat to Tyron Woodley rather exposed him. This finished via a second round submission in his first attempt at the title.
Till has been one of the most well supported fighters in the UFC, as they look for that next star to take over. Following this loss he now looks to progress back to the top of the division and another attempt at the belt, which is of course now held by Usman following his victory at UFC 235. Till is a huge fighter for the division and has had his struggles in the past with making weight, therefore it is a small surprise he stays fighting in this division, rather than moving up in weight. If he can gain a stoppage in this fight, it would be a great stepping stone for big things later on in the year.
Jorge Masvidal
Masvidal is now 34 years of age so brings a vast amount of experience into this bout. He is widely regarded for his online street fighting videos, prior to moving to the professional ranks in the UFC. He has a record of 32 wins and 13 losses but has lost his previous two fights, so now comes into this fight with a lot to prove. This includes a loss to Thompson who Till defeated recently.
He fights out of the highly successful American top team and with his fighting style, this is expected to be a very exciting fight, with a lot of action as both fighters are not afraid to trade in the middle of the octogen. Masvidal is the current 21/10 favourite as he looks to pull off a minor shock in London.
