K-Dojo Warrior Tribe’s David Juliano to make pro debut at CFFC 72
After racking up six consecutive wins as an amateur, David Juliano will now make his professional mixed martial arts debut when the cage door closes behind him at CFFC 72.
The 28-year old Juliano, a top prospect at one of the region’s most prominent MMA gyms, K-Dojo Warrior Tribe, will test his skills against Miguel Diaz on Feb. 16.
The social media post from the gym reads, “1 of the top flyweight amateurs in the east coast has found a home with #CFFC. David Juliano has inked a multi fight deal and will make his pro debut on Feb 16 in AC, NJ at #CFFC72. Hit him up for tickets now!”
“I’m excited about my pro debut, people have been telling me to go pro for a while I have had people tell me for an amateur I have a lot of fights but the number of fights was never pertinent to my decision to go pro; that decision was based on how I felt during my fights. For me right now, this moment is perfect.”
Diaz (4-2 as an amateur) is also make his pro debut. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Mic O’Brien at Art of War Cage Fighting 7 last year.
“My opponent is a three stripe purple belt who imposes his grappling on his opponents. Without giving too much away, it is suffice to say I have studied him and feel like I have a strong game plan going into this fight to impose my will on him and if all things go according to plan I will finish him earlier in the fight than later.”
While he may be competing in lengthier rounds now as a professional, Juliano says he has not really changed up his training in preparation for the upcoming contest.
“In regards to my training, nothing has changed; I’ve won my last six fights in a row so I don’t believe anything needs to be changed. I just work on becoming a better athlete over all. My fans can expect a fun walk out and an extremely technical and violent fight. I’m excited to show everyone what I’ve been working on; the best of David ‘Cobra’ Juliano is yet to be seen.”
Juliano won the Maverick MMA amateur flyweight title in 2018. After starting out with an 0-3 amateur career, Juliano turned his ship around and set sail on a six-fight win streak in a period of less than two years.
CFFC 72 takes place at the Etess Arena at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Atlantic City and can be seen exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
