Report: Denice Zamboanga vs Seo Hee Ham II trending towards ONE X

Denice Zamboanga vs Seo Hee Ham II looks to possibly be going down sooner than later.

News of this targeted sequel was initially reported by South China Morning Post.

ONE Championship is making strides towards positioning this fight for the organization’s ten-year anniversary show, ONE X on December 5th.

The two warriors had a hotly contested fight inside the ONE Circle with Ham winning a split decision.

Regarded by many as the best Atomweight on the planet, Seo Hee Ham garnered a successful debut win in ONE Championship. She showed out in the Atomweight Grand Prix quarter finals in the process.

The loss marked the first professional defeat for Zamboanga in her pro mixed martial arts endeavours so far.

That September bout caused some controversy among many ONE followers. The contest was subsequently reviewed by the competition committee and the bout verdict remained in the favour of Ham.

Seo Hee Ham had punched her ticket to the semi-finals of the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix. But thereafter had to drop out of her Stamp Fairtex fight due to injury.

The injury in question was reportedly a broken finger, as per SCMP MMA, and she was deemed unable to compete in a few weeks’ time. Zamboanga was supposed to face tournament alternate Julie Mezabarba in what was a curiosuly booked tournament alternate bout.

Julie Mezabarba, who won her GP alternate bout against Mei Yamaguchi at ONE: Empower, now assumes Ham’s vacated spot and will fight Fairtex in the Fall.

ONE: Next Gen takes place on October 29th and will see the next pugilistic permutation of the tournament unfold. Mezabarba versus Fairtex transpires but on the otherside of the bracket, we will see Ritu Phogat and Itsuki Hirata test skills.

The winner of the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix will then clash with the returning ONE Atomweight world champion Angela Lee. A high stakes title fight that is being discussed for the first quarter of 2022.

Ham vs Zamboanga II could very well end up in a fuure title fight between Lee and whoever the GP winner ends up being.
