Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KOs), 34, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs), 31, of England, met in December of 2018 and fought to draw. That fight, which took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, ended with controversy.
Many thought Fury out boxed Wilder to win a decision, but Wilder’s big right hand dropped Fury twice to help him keep a loss off his record. The judges scored the contest 155-111 Wilder, 114-112 Fury and 113-113.
Since their last meeting both men have fought twice. Fury knocked out Tom Schwarz in June and then earned a close decision win over Otto Wallin in September. Wilder fought in May and November and knocked out both Dominic Breazeale and Luiz Ortiz.
This fight will be Fury’s first fight with his new trainer Javan “Sugar” Hill. Earlier this month “The Gypsy King” announced that he parted ways trainer Ben Davison.
