Dhiego Lima Gets Quick Turnaround – Draws UFC Vet Matt Brown on June 19 event
The UFC promotion is still yet to officially announce the event’s location and its broadcasting details for their June 19 card but it looks as if Dhiego Lima and Matt Brown will trade blows inside the octagon.
No other bouts have been announced for the promotion’s June 9 event, which is likely to take place in either Las Vegas or Abu Dhabi, but you can expect that to change over the next couple of weeks, if not sooner.
Brown (22-18), dropped a unanimous decision to former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit in their fan-friendly battle at UFC Fight Island 7 earlier this year in Abu Dhabi. It was the second straight loss for “The Immortal, who previously suffered a defeat to Miguel Baeza – that night he got finished by the young prospect.
Brown has been active on social media recently when he responded to a callout from one-time UFC welterweight title challenger Dan Hardy, but the bout seemingly failed to come to fruition. Hardy has been inactive in professional mixed martials arts since the diagnosis of a potentially serious heart condition that cancelled a bout with Brown at UFC on FOX 7 in 2013.
Lima (15-8), a former Titan FC welterweight champion and two-time The Ultimate Fighter finalist. Currently, Lima had won three in a row in against Chad Laprise, Court McGee and Luke Jumeau before losing a unanimous decision to Belal Muhammad in February.
