Dominick Reyes injured; fight with Jiri Prochazka postponed
Dominick Reyes will no longer being fighting on Feb. 27. The former title challenger was booked to fight Jiri Prochazka, but that fight will now take place at a later date after Reyes suffered an injury during training camp..
MMA Fighting reported the news after a UFC official confirmed said Reyes was forced out of the fight due but there were no further details offered about the injury or how long he would be sidelined.
While the UFC did say the fight will be rebooked, they do not have an exact timeline as to when it will be rescheduled.
Reyes (12-2) started his career with 12 straight victories until losing back-to-back fights in 2020 to Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz. Both fights were for the UFC light heavyweight championship.
Prochazka (27-3-1) made his octagon debut in July at UFC 251 where he knocked out former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir in the second-round. The Czech fighter hasn’t lost a fight since 2015 and he is currently riding an 11-fight winning streak.
As a result of Reyes and Prochazka being rescheduled, the UFC has booked a heavyweight main event between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane on Feb. 27.
