Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon rebooked for June 18th
Originally set to meet at UFC 274, Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon will now meet at UFC Fight Night: Katter vs. Emmett, which takes place in Austin, Texas on June 18th.
On the day of the scheduled UFC 274 bout, Cerrone suffered from food poisoning and fell ill. Ultimately led him to pull from the anticipated matchup.
Following the news, Cerrone issued a statement expressing his desire to get the bout rebooked and explained his goal of retiring after hitting the mark of 50 fights, which would mean that he has two left before retirement.
His wish was granted as the UFC brass was quick to rebook the bout for a later date.
As UFC royalty, Donald Cerrone (36-16-0, 2 NC) will make the walk having lost his last five bouts. Come June 18th, he will look to get back in the win column against fellow veteran Lauzon.
Lauzon (28-15-0) will be making his 28th walk to the UFC octagon and will come in off of a first-round stoppage win over Jonathan Pearce back in 2019.
The card is to be headlined by top featherweights Calvin Katter and Josh Emmett. It will also feature Kevin Halland vs. Tim Means and Julian Marquez vs. Gregory Rodrigues.
