Drew Dober makes remarkable comeback

UFC returns to UFC APEX with a hard-hitting light heavyweight contenders’ bout that will see No. 5 ranked Thiago Santos battle No. 6 Magomed Ankalaev. In the co-main event, No 10 ranked bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes aims to stop the momentum of No. 14 Song Yadong.

Also on the UFC Vegas 50 main card and this highlighted recap a lightweight showdown between Drew Dober and Terrance McKinney.

Drew Dober, heads into the fight on a two fight losing streak, once touted as a highly rated prospect. Terrance McKinney, who in his short tenure with the UFC has already claimed two first-round finishes, one of which became the second-fastest KO finish in UFC history.

Dober (23-11), will be making his 18th walk into the UFC octagon, amassing a record of 9-7 with one no contest. The 33 year old veteran will look to get his run back to the rankings back on track with a win over a well rounded prospect.

McKinney (12-3), has proven KO power, producing first-round knockout finishes in four of his last five fights. His last victory against Fares Ziam showed capability to mix it up when he secured a first round rare-naked choke.

Here’s how the fight played out round by round:

ROUND 1:

Keith Peterson is your man in charge. HERE WE GO, this is going to be fun. McKinney rushes to the center and immediately backs up Dober and momentarily knocks him DOWN inside 20 seconds! A flying KNEE lands from McKinney, Dober has an incredible chin. Another knockdown for McKinney but Dober pops straight back up. McKinney gets the take down and is in full guard. McKinney lands elbows from the guard but seemingly wanted the fight on the feet and stands up. Back in the centre, Dober starting to land his shots now. Dober lands a knee inside the clinch and now DOBER HAS MCKINNEY HURT, he’s landing shots from the guard. Keith Peterson is taking a close look, and he steps in and STOPS the fight. WOOOOW, what a comeback from Drew Dober.
