Khalil Rountree violently finishes Karl Roberson at UFC Vegas 50

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, March 12, 2022, for UFC Vegas 50, headlined by light-heavyweight contenders Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev.

Co-headlining the event is a bantamweight contest between former WSOF bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes, who faces a very promising Song Yadong here tonight.

Khalil Rountree fought Karl Roberson in the middle of the main card tonight in a light-heavyweight showdown.

Rountree picked up his first win in over two years in his last bout, while Roberson comes in having lost his last two.

However, don’t let that fool you. Rountree has been a handful since moving his camp over to Tiger Muay Thai, and Roberson is a former professional kickboxer. This is going to be a war!

Official Result: Khalil Rountree def. Karl Roberson via TKO (body kick & punches) at :25 of round two

Rountree right off the bat is very clearly the bigger party of the two, and considering, he appears to be the more powerful striker of the two. He spends the first round dictating the pace, controlling Roberson along the cage with his big strikes.

Roberson is able to get some nice leg kicks off, but other than that, he’s been controlled by Rountree.

Just as we were saying, Rountree opens up the second with furious intentions.

First, he drops Roberson with a combination ending in a right hook, he then pounds away at his grounded opponent. Roberson attempts to get up, and Rountree backs away, but only for a second. He throws and lands a thunderous body kick to the still downed Roberson, who is then somehow able to stand up.

Rountree throws and lands another vicious combination to end the fight.

Roberson was down for a while following this fight as well, Khalil Rountree is a very dangerous man.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
