Veronika Smolková clashes with Ivana Petrović at flyweight in Třinec on November 21

With the flyweight title now vacant, two females have the opportunity to take a huge step forward towards the belt in Třinec.

Rising Slovakian star, Veronika Smolková (10-3), will lock horns with UFC veteran, Ivana Petrović (8-4), who is dropping down a division, at OKTAGON 98 in a vital contest for the future of the division. The event takes place on Saturday, November 21, inside Werk Arena, Czech Republic, and promises to be a showcase of the best domestic talent around.

Smolková is riding an eight-fight winning streak and has also finished her last three opponents before the end of the second round. ‘Sweetheart’ has really come into her own working alongside former double champion, Lucia Szabová, over the past year, stopping the likes of Stephanie Egger and Lisa Kyriacou. If she can add another UFC alum to her resume in Třinec, she will cement her status as a top prospect once again at only 24-years-old.

Petrović is a former ARES FC champion and has shared the cage with the likes of Jamey-Lyn Horth and Juliana Miller. She made her OKTAGON debut back in May and bested Danielle Misteli via TKO in the very first round. The Croatian now intends on making flyweight her home and displaying the best version of herself yet in November.

Young talents, Tomáš Mudroch and Jakub Batfalský, are also set to perform on the card against currently unknown opponents.
