DWCS winner Kenny Cross on signing with XFC “It came together perfectly”

Interview with Kenny Cross above

Kenny Cross (10-3) discusses his lightweight tournament matchup against Jarel Askew (11-6) at XFC 43 on Nov. 11. Kenny also talks about his win over Kevin Syler on DWCS, getting snubbed by the UFC for a contract and how this deal with XFC came together. Following his DWCS victory, Cross explained how XFC was the clear frontrunner to sign him.

“They talked to me before my fight and I really liked Myron Molotky (the promoter), he was there for my second pro fight ever. So he reached out to me, I was like ‘ok doe, XFC is coming over to America, they’re going to relaunch’.  He was talking about the broadcast that they had. Sean Shelby hits up Daron and going and we ended up going and taking that (DWCS) fight. I kind of put it on the backburner. I don’t get the DWCS contract and the first person I’m looking to hear from is Myron. No events had taken place yet. It came together perfectly. My career, aside from not getting a UFC contract, everything’s really aligned. I’m blessed to have the career that I’ve had. I want to stay busy and I don’t want to beg the UFC to get another shot on DWCS. I wanted to feel respect and love. I was sold immediately.”
