Eagle FC 44 features Spong vs Bigfoot and Rashad Evans return for US debut
Tyrone Spong and Bigfoot Silva will clash in heavyweight MMA competition. This contest under the Eagle FC banner is set for early 2022 at Eagle FC 44.
The Khabib Nurmagomedov helmed MMA promotion announced news of this top-of-the-marquee bout to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi who tweeted the news.
Eagle FC’s United States debut card has its main event: Tyrone Spong vs. Bigfoot Silva in a heavyweight MMA bout Jan. 28 in Miami, per officials.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s promotion will also have the return of Rashad Evans on the same card, which was first reported by @KevinI.

Antonio Bigfoot Silva is a former UFC heavyweight title challenger, Strikeforce veteran, and Elite XC heavyweight champion. But he has fallen on hard times and has posted up one victory opposite eight defeats in MMA fights after losing his title bid to Cain Velasquez at UFC 160.
In addition to those nine MMA defeats, Silva has also suffered two recent defeats in other disciplines. Losses in kickboxing and bare-knuckle boxing competition to Rico Verhoeven and Gabriel Gonzaga, respectively.
Bigfoot last competed for Megdan Fighting 9 in June of this year.
Silva has significant wins over Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, Travis Browne, and Ricco Rodriguez.
Tyrone Spong is 2-0 as an MMA fighter and the decorated standup artist last fought in mixed martial arts competition for WSOF in August 2013. He looks to go 3-0 on January 28th in Miami.

Also, Rashad Evans will be returning after his retirement term at Eagle FC 44. This news regarding Suga Rashad was first reported by Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports.
An opponent was not specified for the former UFC light heavyweight world champion. But the plan is to return to competing at 205 pounds.
Evans has lost his last five straight UFC contests and last tasted defeat to Anthony Smith via first-round KO at UFC 225 in June 2018.
Rashad Evans has put together significant victories against names like Rampage Jackson, Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Chael Sonnen, Dan Henderson, and Forrest Griffin to name a few.
A news conference on December 15th in Miami is set up to announce additional fights on EagleFC 44.
