Elin Oberg to feature in the UAE Warriors debut

Elin “The Amazon” Oberg who is a notable MMA fighter from Sweden is set to take part in the UAE Warriors debut against French Stephanie Page. The UAE Warriors as you know is a high-quality and prolific promotion based in the Middle East.

The bout will take place at the end of November.

Ober has only 4 matches in her career. She started her career as a pro 2 years ago and in her first round defeated Anna Astvik convincingly in just 6 seconds.

The second match was also successful for Oberg. She beat Anette Österberg at EFC 1 and in his third match, she lost against Elizabeth Rodrigues. It was a unanimous decision.

It should be noted that against Page, Oberg is going with a 1-game winning streak. The fourth match in her career ended with Oberg beating Malin Hermansson.

The popularity of Oberg in Nordics

If we do not take into account Norwegian Cecilia Braekhus, who is probably the best woman boxer in the world, Elin Oberg is very popular in Scandinavia. Even though she does not have many matches, Oberg is gradually progressing and her popularity has already gone beyond Sweden. Norway in particular – the country that produced Cecilia Braekhus is at the forefront. Even the gambling industry, which is rapidly developing, has made several promotions for the Swedish fighter. Most recently top online bookmakers in Norway have already offered the possible odds for the future match against Stephanie Page, and she is considered a heavy favorite. Promotions and odds include the duration of rounds, win by knockout and etc. It should be noted that in every aspect, for bookmakers Oberg is the preferred candidate.

What about Stephanie Page?

Page has been around for 7 years from 2013. Despite 1 loss, she won 5 matches and has a record of 5-1. She is on a massive winning streak and is a tough opponent for Oberg.

How is the MMA in the Nordics developing?

The MMA in Scandinavia is still a very young field and gradually progresses. In Nordic countries we mean Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Faroe Islands. While we cannot compare fighters from these countries to the ones like Anderson Silva, Connor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov still they enjoy decent popularity in this field. Norway was one of the countries that initially had problems with legalizing MMA but right now the situation has been resolved.

Sweden is definitely the most popular country and this is why Olberg also has good stats in MMA.

The room for the future development of this field is still very vast and we hope to witness more players like Olberg soon.
