Elizabeth Phillips going to bring the pressure and make it a fun fight in main event at Fusion Fight League

Invicta FC and UFC veteran Elizabeth Phillips will be returning to work in the main event at Fusion Fight League on Saturday, June 12th.  Phillips (7-7) will welcome fellow Invicta vet, Serena DeJesus (2-2) to the cage in Helena, Montana on a fight card that will be streamed live on FITE.

Phillips, like a majority of mixed martial artists, had to play the waiting game with the Covid-19 restrictions and hasn’t been in action in over two years. MyMMANews caught up with Elizabeth as she was nearing fight week.  She does not believe in ring rust at all and is comfortable and confident in her camp. Asked about the fight, she says…

“She’s got great endurance. From what I’ve seen before,  I see from her making it a kickboxing match.  I don’t see any takedowns or any clenching.  She has tried to press forward in her fights, but I like to press forward in my fights.  She hasn’t liked that in the past from what I’ve watched and studied.  I think I’m the one who is going to try and make it a dirty fight and bring the pressure, make it a fun fight.  That’s what I like to do.”

Please check out our interview on the link.  Phillips is the utmost professional and had a sense of calmness about her which is not surprising with this being her 15th fight.  You may know her opponent Serena DeJesus as Serena Southpaw on social media.  I also spoke with DeJesus and our interview will be out soon.  This matchup looks like a very entertaining one and will cap off a night with that has twelve fights scheduled.
