Emily Ducote discusses her upcoming fight against Angela Hill

Emily Ducote couldn’t have had a better debut in the UFC and now she’s looking to build on that performance when she makes her second walk to the octagon at UFC Orlando.

Over the summer, Ducote debuted at UFC Long Island against Jessica Penne and at that point in her career, she experience a lot of ups and downs.

She previously fought in Bellator’s flyweight division where she fought for a title. However, fighting at 125 pounds was not her ideal weight class and she would suffer some tough defeats within the promotion.

Following Bellator, Ducote would fight in Invicta FC in their strawweight division and once she got that opportunity to fight at 115 pounds, her career really took off.

She went on the win the Invicta strawweight title and then six weeks prior to UFC Long Island, the UFC matchmakers called and offered her a contract.

Ducote gladly accepted the fight and would take on former UFC title challenger Jessica Penne, who at the time was ranked in the division.

While there was a lot of nerves experiencing a new promotion on fight week, Ducote said the UFC was very professional, organized and made it easy for her to get through her first UFC fight week without any problems.

After getting through the week, Ducote would go on to defeat Penne and after just one fight in the UFC, she managed to crack the rankings in the UFC’s deepest female division.

Now it’s time for a new challenge as Ducote will fight at UFC Orlando against fan favorite Angela Hill.

Hill is known for always being active and Ducote has spent a lot of time focusing on all of Hill’s fights and she feels that she knows exactly how Hill will approach the fight.

Ducote is expecting Hill to come out fast and apply pressure and pace to the fight. She also believes that there is a possibility of some grappling, but no matter what Hill brings to the table on fight night, Ducote feels that her preparation has been on point and that she is the better fighter.

Prior to the fight, Ducote spoke with MyMMANews about her matchup with Hill, her plans to slowly climb up the UFC ranks and she also took a look back on her UFC debut.
