Emily Ducote discusses her upcoming fight against Polyana Viana
Emily Ducote will finally fight in Las Vegas.
So far in her career, Ducote has had 19 professional fights, fought for a Bellator world title and won the Invicta FC strawweight championship and throughout all of that, she’s somehow never managed to fight in the fight capital of the world.
In fact, not only will this be her first time fighting in Las Vegas, but it will be her first experience fighting at the UFC Apex and seeing the UFC Performance Institute.
Ducote is definitely excited for the experience, but at the end of the day, she’s just happy to be able to fight again inside of the octagon.
This time when Ducote fights, she’ll be locked inside of the cage with Polyana Viana at UFC Vegas 72 on April 29.
The matchup excites Ducote and she’s really looking forward to the fight and ahead of fight night, Ducote has been getting a lot of great training sessions in.
As usual, Ducote is training in at her home gym of American Top Team OKC, but in addition to that she’s made a few guest appearances at some bigger gyms.
One of the gyms she spent some time at is Fortis MMA in Texas and Ducote really liked being coached by the great coaches inside of the top-notch gym.
Perhaps the most interesting part of her training for this fight came on the west coast when Ducote trained with her first two UFC opponents.
Jessica Penne, who Ducote defeated in her UFC debut and Angela Hill, who beat Ducote late last year, both train at Alliance MMA in California. Ducote isn’t one for bad blood and she made friends with her first two opponents, and they all decided it would be fun to train together so Ducote made the trip west to California and spent some time working there as well.
It has been a very productive camp for Ducote and she believes that is more than ready for this fight and she plans on making that first Vegas fight experience a memorable one.
Prior to UFC Vegas 72, Ducote spoke with MyMMANews to discuss her matchup with Viana, her preparation for the fight and since she has a love for donuts, she spoke about the popular donut chain Duck Donuts.
