Emmanuel Sanchez discusses his upcoming fight with Patricio Pitbull
Emmanuel Sanchez knows exactly what it’s like to share the Bellator cage with Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
In November of 2018 the two batted for 25 minutes with Pitbull getting his hand raised at the end of the fight by earning a unanimous decision victory. Pitbull calls that the fight the toughest one of his career.
Following the fight, Pitbull went on to defend his title two more times while also winning the lightweight championship as well.
Meanwhile, Sanchez has been waiting for the opportunity to avenge the loss. Since the fight, Sanchez has won three fights in a row. In fact, Sanchez has won seven of his past eight fights with the Pitbull loss being his lone defeat.
Now after a few years of waiting for another chance at Pitbull, Sanchez will finally get the chance to fight him again on April 2 at Bellator 255. The two will meet in the main event for Pitbull’s 145 pound title. The fight is also a semifinal matchup in the Bellator featherweight grand prix with the winner advancing to the finals to face AJ McKee.
