Eye was one of three fighters to miss weight yesterday during weigh-ins. She tipped the scales at 126.25 pounds, missing the flyweight mark by just 0.25 pounds.
Also, Karl Roberson came in heavy at 190.5 pounds for his scheduled middleweight bout against Marvin Vettori. There was already bad blood here as Roberson missed weight last month during the promotion’s first attempt at putting the fight together. Roberson came in heavy that day and was sent to a local hospital, released, and then confronted by Vettori in the hotel lobby.
Lastly, Zarrakh Adashev came in at 138.5 pounds for his bantamweight bout against rising star Tyson Nam. All three fighters who missed will pay a percentage of their fight purses to their opponents.
The card took another hit during weigh-ins as Darrick Minner reportedly fell ill and his featherweight bout against Jordan Griffin was removed from the card.
A pair of UFC newcomers opened up the night as Christian Aguilera defeated Anthony Ivy by way of strikes less than a minute into the contest.
Tyson Nam followed up Aguilera’s performance with a 32-second knockout of Zarrukh Adeshev. Then Julia Avila continued the tradition by defeating Gina Mazany in just 22-seconds.
