Matt Bessette

EXCLUSIVE: Matt Bessette eyes PFL opportunity following UFC release

Matt Bessette discusses his fighting future in his first interview since being released by the UFC.

The former, longtime CES MMA featherweight champion discusses his UFC release, wanting an opportunity to join the Professional Fighters League, how he would love to fight in Japan, managing fighters, other goals and aspirations outside of the cage and much more.

Bessette said that he has told the UFC that he is the guy to call when they need a fighter on 24-hours notice.  He said that even though he tossed his name in the hat for multiple fights, the UFC never reached back out to him.

“It was awesome, it was awesome,” Bessette said about that first walk to octagon.

Will Matt Bessette find a spot back on the roster sometime in the near future?
