FAC 5’s Derek Holly turned down more money to fight EJ Brooks

Interview with Derek Holly above – Check it out

Derek Holly (4-2-1) discusses his middleweight fight against EJ Brooks (13-6) at Fighting Alliance 5 on Dec. 11. Derek also talked about quitting his day job as a hotel manager to focus on fighting, training at Jackson/Wink MMA and why he turned down more money to fight Brook on Friday.

“It’s funny because I didn’t have fights offered for a long time and then you get multiple (fights) at the same time, that’s how it happens. We had another opportunity that might have been some more money. But I said this is the guy because he has more experience. I’m not going to have someone that has 3-4 fights when I have the opportunity to fight a Bellator veteran. He’s fought tough fights and beaten some the best in the world. I like how I match up here. I have a strong wrestling game and we get to throw hands.”
