Father to be Beneil Dariush discusses his Feb. 6 fight with Diego Ferreira
Beneil Dariush is to going have a fun, exciting and busy next few months.
Right now the No. 12 ranked lightweight contender is in training camp as he prepares for a second fight with Diego Ferreira, who is ranked three spots ahead of Dariush at No. 9. Their fight will take place on Feb. 6 and while the event doesn’t have an official location, it is expected to take place in Las Vegas.
Dariush won their first meeting back in October 2014 at UFC 179 by unanimous decision. Since then Dariush (19-4-1) has posted a 10-3-1 recored and is currently on a five-fight winning streak with fours wins coming by finishes. Meanwhile, Ferreira lost his next fight to Dustin Poirier and hasn’t lost since as he’ll bring a six-fight winning streak into the contest.
Camp got off to a tough start as Dariush tested positive for COVID-19, but he has been back in the gym for a few weeks now as he gets ready for the upcoming lightweight showdown.
While Dariush is getting ready for the fight, he’s also preparing for fatherhood as Dariush told MyMMANews in an interview that him and his wife are expecting their first child in June.
Of course that’s not all Dariush has going on in his life as he does missionary work in Haiti and he’s planning on being active with that during all of these times. He recently visited the country back in August to met the kids who he is helping.
