Fedor vs. Matt Mitrione targeted for Bellator MMA early 2017
We knew it was coming, we just didn’t know when. After attending and participating in several Bellator MMA Fan Fests it seems as if Fedor Emelianenko may be coming to the promotion spearheaded by Scott Coker.
According to a report from FloCombat, Fedor vs. former UFC heavyweight turned Bellator fighter, Matt Mitrione is in the works for early 2017.
Mitrione (11-5) is on a two fight win streak since coming to Bellator from the UFC. He started his UFC career being a cast member on the Ultimate Fighter Season 10 alongside Kimbo Slice.
If the fight does come to fruition and it happens in the United States it would be Fedor’s first fight in the U.S. since his days which Strikeforce, the now defunct MMA organization that first paired him and Coker with one another.
Fedor is currently on a five-fight win streak although the Fabio Maldonado fight from earlier this year was highly criticized and argued that the judges’ gave Fedor the fight although he likely should not have won.
Fedor currently holds a 36-4 professional mixed martial arts record and is highly regarded as one of the best of all time.
